The fall of the Hellenic States.

In 204 BC became Ephiphanes as a child king of Egypt. In this also Phillip V saw a weakness and wanted to invade parts of the Ptolemaic Empire. Attalos I was opposed to it and called the Romans for help.
As a result started the 2 Makedonian war from 200-197 BC and the Romans defeated the Macedonians and free whole Greece from their ruler ship.

In this Antiochos saw again a weakness of Macedonia and wanted to invade in northern Greece, but got already defeated in 191 BC near the Thermophylen by the Romans and pulled back to Minor Asia. The Aetoler made 189 BC piece with the Romans and just before also the Acheaic Alliance, Rhodes, Pergamon and even Macedonia took the Roman side. So there was no other choice for Antiochos and 188 BC he made concessions for a piece contract. He had to pay a high contribution and payment to the Romans.

In 171 BC because of alleged pretension to power of Macedonia came up the 3 Macedonian war with the Romans, in which they got defeated totally and the Empire got divided into four shared parts. In the war between the Archaic Alliance and Sparta in 146 BC, the Romans took the side of Sparta, destroyed Corinth, the most important member, and put the city rulers of Macedonian in charge of nearly whole Greece.

The Romans invaded after some important victories also Asia as the province Syria and Egypt. With this the history of the Greek and Hellenic City-States found an end, but the civilization still continued their life's, but know under the ruler ship of the Romans.
